Message from the CEO

Thank you for your interest in Vident Financial. Our mission is to put your investment needs first.

My experience working with advisors and clients over the last 30 years in the wealth management space taught me that advisors and clients deserve more from their investment company.

First, the only benchmark to Vident solutions is the investor’s future needs founded on a Principles-Based Investment decision making process. Our investment solutions are focused on utilizing timeless principles to increase the probability of clients attaining their long-term growth goals.

Second, Vident Financial has a governance and ownership structure completely focused on serving its investors. All profits are returned to investors in lower fees and used for further research to continually enhance the funds.

Third, we saw a need for a better sub advisory as we were creating complex, multi factor, Principles-Based indices. Rather than settling for what was already in the market, we invested in building a sub-advisory team with custom and proprietary implementation expertise. As a result, the subsidiary we built, Vident Investment Advisory, provides institutional level asset management and trading capabilities for our ETFs as well as other managers.

Finally, our principled investment solutions are offered in a transparent and tax efficient investment delivery vehicle, exchange traded funds (ETFs). All positions are accessible daily to every investor and minimize the tax impact through these available ETFs.

As the owner of Vident Financial, the Vident Investors’ Oversight Trust believes that human productivity is the source of growth and wealth creation. Vident Financial is proud to encourage human productivity at a grassroots level by supporting Hanna’s Home, an orphanage in the heart of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia dedicated to loving kids from childhood through university graduation.

Vident Financial’s support is partly accredited to its production of an Ethiopian, medium roast coffee blend, we named Hanna’s Blend. Vident Financial owns and distributes Hanna’s Blend, sending a portion of the proceeds to support Hanna’s Home.

Vident Financial will also match the dollar amount of coffee you purchase as a donation to support Hanna’s mission and dream.

Story of Hanna's Home

Hanna’s Home is a unique orphanage, started through the compassion of one radiant and joyful woman, who opened her home to street children and cared for them. Since 1997, in support of Hanna’s mission other women opened their homes to or-phans, called “house-moms.” Together they have taken in over 330 orphans in Ethiopia. They provide food, shelter, education, love and security. Hanna ensures that all of her kids attend local schools.

Hanna’s Home operates on a hub-and-spoke model, making it a unique orphanage. The central compound serves as a safe haven for the kids to play and learn. The children live in individual homes with their house-mothers - within walking distance of the compound and their local schools.
